The planning of the Institute of Children’s Literature (ICL) started in August, 1996. In the following May, the ICL was established and announced the first recruitment, from which all 15 enrolled MA students registered in September. The institute is currently the unique of its kind in Taiwan. In order to expand the research range of children’s literature and to offer in-service education in higher education system, the institute offers MA programs not only of Day School but also of Summer School and Evening School (Since 2006, Evening School in Taipei and in Taitung recruit by turns). The institute started offering Ph.D. program since 2003. Until August 1st, 2005, the organization of the ICL has reached 5 full-time faculty and almost 200 students. |
